Dr. Hessa Abdullah Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador in Spain inaugurated on Tuesday, 28 March 2017, the “FELIAZ VIAJE” solo art exhibition of the Emirati artist Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan at the Casa Arabe in Madrid, Spain. The art exhibition organized by the UAE Embassy in Spain in collaboration with Casa Arabe, a Spanish public consortium headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, was attended by other diplomatic officials, Spanish media and prominent artists with great interest in the Arab culture, in particular the Emirati culture.
With this occasion, the UAE Ambassador expressed her gratitude, thanking Casa Arabe for their valuable cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Madrid for organizing this important art exhibition. H.E. Dr. Hessa Abdullah Al Otaiba announced that this is considered the First Emirati Fine Art Exhibition in Spain and an opportunity to present the Emirati Art to the Spanish audience and art enthusiasts, spreading the Emirati culture in Spain.
Mr. Pedro Antonio Villena Perez, the general director of the Casa Arabe, emphasized on the strengthening of the bilateral and multilateral political relations, promoting and assisting with economic and educational relations between the two countries, including the cultural ties as well.
He said: “I am delighted that Casa Arabe is embracing this art exhibition as part of its annual cultural program and activities, and is organized with the occasion of its 10th anniversary celebration since it’s been founded with its role of promoting the exchange of cultural dialogue, creating bridges of constructive communication between the two countries and furthering understanding about the Arab and Muslim world.”
Mr. Pedro Antonio Villena Perez took the opportunity to announce the Emirati film screenings week with Spanish subtitles that includes the “Tainted Veil” documentary along with other Emirati film productions, well known regionally and internationally, which will be screened in numerous cities in Spain, show casing the art of cinema in UAE.
At the art exhibition, fine art pieces by Sheikha Alyazia from three different collections, including paintings from the series The Dish were displayed. These are viewed with a deep philosophical perception of the impact of the media that shapes our ideas and opinions.
The second collection of series of Leading Labels included portraits of the famous movie stars in which the artist portrays their playing roles, giving life to their characters and revealing the insightful journey that reflects the depth of the human nature.
The third collection Safe Trip, a fine non-conventional artwork, Alyazia added artistic touches on the quality of the global commercial world of airline advertising.
The art exhibition will be opened for the public for two weeks.
Casa Arabe is operated as a strategic center for Spain’s relations with the Arab world, a meeting point where different role-players and institutions, both private and public, from the world of business, education, academia, politics and culture can dialogue, interact, establish lines of cooperation and undertake joint projects.
